THE RULES:
All cars must be left hand steer cars and have working doors. Cars and drivers must meet all NHRA guide lines and safety rules that pertain to the speed and et of their vehicle. All vehicles will be inspected before qualifying starts.

No other performance rules apply.

Qualifying:

We are expecting to have 4 qualifying attempts. 3 will be on qualifying day and 1 on race day. The race director has discretion to allow cars to race that did not meet the minimum qualifying times, if he feels it will make the show better. All classes must have 4 cars or more in the field to be run. The 4 car rule will be strictly enforced this year. If the field is not run, qualified cars will receive qualifying points but no round points.

Classes:

The cars will be split into 2 separate fields.  The "sharp shooters" and the "gunslingers".  All drivers will be required to preregister at least 1 week before the race.  The entries will be kept unpublished until the week before the race.  The driver must choose at the time of registration which class they are entering.

"Sharp Shooters"  Quickest 8 cars - Your car must run 7.75 or quicker to qualify in this class - If you are qualified #9 or lower, you will not be allowed to race with either class. The Sharpshooters is a "Run What Ya Brung and Hope Ya Brung Enough" class. If you didn't bring enough you will be going home.

Class Sponsors: BAC Roofing, Ben‘s Automotive, Howard Powered Racing Engines, Monte Carlo Steak House and Yearwood Performance Center

"Gunslinger’s" will be an all run field - Your car must run quicker than 8.50 to qualify for this class. Because many of the cars that will run this class are limited to a 7.50 chassis certification, no car will be allowed to run quicker than 7.60. If a car should run quicker than a 7.60 on his/her qualifying run, the run will be thrown out and the driver will be put in at the bottom of the qualifying ladder (but will be allowed to run). If a car runs quicker than a 7.60 in eliminations, his/her round money will be given to the loser of that round but the driver will be allowed to advance to the next round. It is possible for a car to run quicker than a 7.60 in every round and win a Gunslinger’s event. The down side to that is that the winner would only take home $200 for his/her effort, because he/she would give up $100 per round of his winnings (if he/she went quicker than 7.60 in all 3 rounds) Any car that runs 7.49 or quicker, the driver and the car must meet all current NHRA rules for Adv ET.  If either is not met the driver will be disqualified and given a written warning, and will forfeit round money for losing that round.  The driver that was beaten, will be reinstated into the next round.

Any car that enters into a R.O.D.S. event will not be allowed to enter the local bracket racing program.

Round Money:
All cars that qualify must run 1st round in order to receive round money. When a car stages for 1st round his/her car must be capable of running the full race course under power. If a car qualifies but breaks and can not make the next round, the driver agrees to inform the race director of the situation. If the race director determines that your race car is not capable of running the full race course under power, the race director will have the authority to replace your car with an alternate car. If an alternate car is available, the alternate car would be asked to fill the spot of the broke car. The alternate car would be the next qualified car.  If the alternate car agrees to fill the spot, the broke car would then forfeit $100 of his/her qualifying/round money and give that amount of money to the alternate. The alternate car would then proceed as if they had qualified or won the round in that spot and could advance to the final should they win rounds. If there is not an alternate car to replace the broke car all cars would run in their qualified position and the broke car would not report to the starting line and a single would be allowed. The broke car would receive his/her full payment of the qualifying or round money entitled to them.

Crew Shirts:

Proper attire: R.O.D.S. requires that all team members who will be on the starting line wear matching team shirts. We would prefer that teams purchase team uniforms/shirts but it is not required for this year. We would like for all teams who run in R.O.D.S. to look professional and greasy t-shirts are not the image we are looking for.
